A few works inspired by Mom’s homecooking. A familiar aroma when you entered the kitchen, a staple meal that you had at least ONCE a week. A meal that always tasted the same, no matter how many times it was cooked and served.
A meal that MIGHT not even have a recipe.

FLAVOURII SERIES

Flavourii ©2009 Carol Cooper
The second series for this month is based on an experiment. From one work I explored & added different flavours to see what the outcomes would be. From a single point of departure! I really liked the colour pallette and it was a pleasant surprise as I was able to keep each work somewhat structured, while letting the composition focus run wild. FUN!!
The 16 works have been uploaded to the Flavourii album in the main gallery. [LINK TO FLAVOURII ALBUM]
CACOTTE MINI SERIES

Prima Corazon ©2009 Carol Cooper
A little mini series of 6 works, again exploring a single seed. A 3D’ ish element was incorporated to see if “Depth” could be visualized. The 6 works have been uploaded to the Cacotte album in the main gallery. [LINK TO CACOTTE MINI SERIES ALBUM]
OUR PERSONAL SPACE SERIES (ongoing)

Our Personal Space will be an ongoing series where I’ll be exploring the abstract of “Urban Cities”, virtual & real, core to suburbs, dawn to dusk! 4 works have been uploaded so far in the OPS album in the main gallery. [LINK TO OPS SERIES ALBUM]
FOUR POINT SERIES

Four Point Twelve ©2009 Carol Cooper
I enjoyed creating this particular series over the last few months. I think it was the challenge of working with a simple pallette of 4 brilliant colours, each with it’s own strength. A total of 24 works have been uploaded to the series album in the gallery. [LINK TO FOUR POINT ALBUM]
Spring has Sprung, Happy Easter!

Banana, waffle & pretty colours on the placemat – what a great way to start the day!!
) The waffle holes and squares on the placemat caught my attention, so I had to pull out the camera & then play. My friend will say whoaaaaaaa Carol, too much butter there, oops!
Although I am still plugging away at the series in progress, I find myself breaking every so often and out comes a “Bozzetto”, well maybe sometimes quite a few of them, hahaha Lots of textures & symmetry this time around – I’ve uploaded 11 little bozzetto’s today to the album if you would like to take a peek: [LINK TO BOZZETTO ALBUM]

New Mini Series – Out of the Blue
Just taking a little break in between working on a few larger series and playing with some ideas, – this one popped out of the blue. I had taken a photo of the pile of snow outside my patio area last month and came across it again the other day. There’s been so much news coverage about the horiffic avalanche accidents in British Columbia, and the Far North has been on my mind as well. Thinking about how sometimes it’s not what you see, but what you don’t see, and how it can affect you in certain ways. Ever hear someone say, “Oh for crying out loud, just tell me the whole story or I want to see the BIG picture”. Abbreviated visuals for contemplation?
