I am happy to announce a new series:

In-DIGI-flora: on the wide side of Lake Superior

I would like to extend very special thanks to Mrs. Erika North, Curator of the Claude E. Garton Herbarium at Lakehead University, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, and also to Mr. Mark Nisenholt, Chair / Visual Arts Department, Lakehead University, for their encouragement, supporting words & belief that I could bring this series to life.

The series is comprised of 28 works (12″ X 12″) that I have uploaded to the In-DIGI-flora album in the “New Works Gallery”  for viewing and future reference.

Direct link to gallery album, if you would like to take a peek: In-DIGI-flora album

Thanks Carol :o)

    Hi Carol!!

I love this series! Your hard work and creativity is certainly apparent! It is so interesting to be able to see local flora in such a beautiful and unique way as usually we don’t pay them much attention but your rendering makes us open our eyes and see the beauty that is around us!! It is so fascinating too that this was a research project! Thanks for this!!

Hi Katja, thank you so very much for kind comment. I was moved when I heard that “indigenous” flora/plants can very easily become extinct due to urban developments that clear out areas of natural habitat where only certain specimens can grow. I feel it is important to protect them because they are “Special” in some cases only to our local/regional area. Cheers Katja, keep creative my friend & many thanks again! :o)

this is a beautiful series of work, carol…..I enjoyed perusing all the different flowers, examining them and wondering how you did each print….I wondered if any lived here where I am in california but seriously doubt it as it is so hot and dry compared to your part of the world……still you have inspired me….uh oh.. :)

Hi Linda, thanks kindly! Now you have me thinking about what specimens of flora would be indigenous to the Canadian west coast? A new series perhaps - coast to coast flowers, oh my :o) reciprocal inspiration - gotta love it!!
