Weekly FFF - Title: Crab in my Garden

Crab in my Garden ©2008 Carol Cooper

I found inspiration for this weeks FFF (Fresh Flash Friday) from two sources.  First, Crabby people in department store check out lines -  hey CHEER UP!! you’re in front of me and not at the end of the line :o) Secondly, this paintograph was based on a photo I took while visiting my Mum, and guess what, it was of her pretty little flower garden which had a bright green plastic crab stuck in among the leaves.

oops . . . I kind of stuck it in the photoshop blender for fun!!!

Weekly FFF’s will be filed in the New Works Gallery under the BOZZETTO album for future reference.

Wireless Digital Photo Frame

Email pictures to your loved ones, they’ll see them instantly on the PicWing photo frame.

“PicWing wants to simplify the digital photo scene by bringing out a wireless digital photo frame that users reach via e-mail.

“Digital photo frames are a great idea, but the current photo frames are pretty bad,” says PicWing co-founder Enrique Rodriguez. “It takes a lot of effort to get your pictures onto them. We’re trying to let you push pictures directly to the frame, so your non-technical relatives can look at the frame and there they are.” To make a photo show up on PicWing’s frame, all you have to do is send it to the frame’s unique e-mail address, whether from your home computer or your cell phone.

I would like to introduce you to artist Gerhard Katterbauer, who resides in Vienna, Austria . I had the pleasure of first viewing Gerhard’s works on Elizabeth Mansco’s “Submit Digital Art” online gallery which showcases International Digital Artists.  I was in awe of his talent at first glance,  as I still am to this day.

“We are confronted daily by countless visual stimulations, which force us to select among quantities of ‘image-informations’. snippet from Gerhard’s artist statement

I highly recommend viewing Gerhard’s Digital Fine Art works, as well as his expressive sculptures on display in his online gallery.

Weekly FFF - Title: Poop on Pastel

Pastel ©2008 Carol Cooper

Ok, well I gave it my best shot, and you know what, it just does not turn my crank, period.  Pastel colours may look lovely to me singly, (a single colour), but mix them up and blaaaaaaaaa!! I got bored and lost interest in pushing the pixels further. Does that prove a point? I wonder eh? Makes we wonder how artists who accept commissions and are given a palette to work from, a palette which simply makes them turn green can create a work they truly feel for? Does that make sense? Oh well, lots of questions here tonight.  All I know is that I cannot stir the crank if I do not get stimulated from the onset. Blaaaaaaa, smiling. Chalk it up to a learning experience. :o)

Weekly FFF’s will be filed in the New Works Gallery under the BOZZETTO album for future reference.

Pastels

Image from Favors for Weddings Blog
- Mini heart pastel espresso set, they are so pretty!!

Vivid, brilliant, saturated, rich, intensive, I love creating with bold colours!
So this week I am challenging myself to do a 180 and consciously try to lighten my palette.

Check back for next Friday’s Weekly FFF and see how I did! :o)

p.s. I know!! I was late with this weeks FFF, blame it on being slightly pre-occupied ;o)

Weekly FFF - Title: Pitstop

Pitstop ©2008 Carol Cooper

I found inspiration for this weeks FFF (Fresh Flash Friday) from a little bird bath I saw recently.  I am sure was made with love.  Sometimes unselfish acts feel good you know. Try it . . . you’ll see!

I am sure our feathered friends were appreciative! :o)
